Venison For Dogs

Raw Love Pets is dedicated to making naturally delicious raw food for dogs. Our meals are biologically appropriate – 100% grain-free and without any nasties. It is made with love from ethically farmed meat and fermented vegetables & fruit, bursting with nutrients to nourish your pet from within.

Ingredients: 70% venison meat, 30% fermented vegetables & fruit.

Plains game muscle meat & hearts, trimmings, lungs, liver, spinach, carrots, butternut, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, baby marrow, green beans, parsley, cucumber, Granny Smith apples, papaya, blueberries, kelp, alfalfa sprouts, broccoli sprouts, fenugreek sprouts, rooibos, unfiltered apple cider vinegar, kefir, moringa, diatomaceous earth.

Registered as a complementary meal (*) with the Department of Agriculture – Product Reg No 25717 (Act 36/1947).

Important Information - Wild-Harvested Venison

Our venison is sourced from wild, free-ranging game harvested during the regulated hunting season. Unlike conventionally farmed livestock, wild game is harvested using ammunition.

We source our venison from a reputable, registered South African meat processor that also processes game and ostrich meat for international export and is required to comply with stringent South African and international food safety, veterinary, hygiene, inspection and traceability requirements, including the standards applicable to its European Union export markets.

Raw Love is not an abattoir or game-meat processing establishment. We purchase meat that has already passed through our supplier's regulated harvesting, inspection and meat-processing chain. At Raw Love, the supplied meat is used as an ingredient in our recipes: it is minced, combined with the other ingredients in accordance with our formulations, portioned and frozen.

Because wild game is harvested using ammunition, there remains a very small possibility that a buckshot pellet or projectile fragment may remain embedded in the supplied meat, despite the inspection and processing controls in place. These pellets or fragments can be extremely small - sometimes small enough to pass through the holes of our industrial meat mincer.

The rare presence of such a pellet or fragment is therefore not evidence of an unidentified foreign object contamination issue arising during manufacture at Raw Love, but rather a known and uncommon residual risk specifically associated with wild harvested game meat.
